GLOSSARY

What is a drip campaign?

A drip campaign is a series of pre written messages, usually emails, sent automatically on a set schedule or in response to what someone does. Instead of one blast, the messages drip out over days or weeks to nurture a lead toward a decision.

A time based drip sends messages at fixed intervals after someone joins, for example on day one, day three, and day seven. A behaviour based drip reacts to actions, such as sending a case study after someone views your pricing page.

Drip campaigns are useful because most leads are not ready to buy the moment they arrive. A steady, relevant sequence keeps you present until the timing is right, without a person writing each message.

The messages only work if they are relevant and genuinely useful. A generic sequence that ignores what the person did tends to get ignored, so the best drips branch based on behaviour.
